How do I determine the Rod Holder Angles in my boat?

(See YouTube Video) Download an angle meter app to your smartphone (IPHONE already has this app under Measure App).  Insert a thick handled item, such as a gaff or mop handle into the rod holders you want to use with Manta Racks.  With the Angle Meter App opened, place the side of the smartphone against the handle.  The Boating Industry only uses 150, 300, and 00 rod holder angles.  There is 900 in a Right Angle.  The App’s results may display the difference between the angle and 900.  For instance, if the App states 600, then you have a 300 rod holder. In this example, if the App states an angle such as 570, the rod holder would still be 300 and the reason is that the handle you are using is slightly leaning off the exact angle.  Repeat this process on the second rod holder you plan to use. Measure both rod holders you want to use, because the boat manufacturer may have installed different angle rod holders.

My Rod Holders are installed at an Angle. Can Manta Racks be used in this case?

Yes, Our Rack Systems have a Patented swivel head, which allows you to rotate the top of the Rack System and lock it into place, so that it will be parallel to the gunnel.

How fast can I go in my boat when transporting my SUP with Manta Racks?

Our Rack Systems are built to withstand the boating environment.  We do not recommend speeding with Manta Racks, although we have had customers tell us that they have been 60+mph.

How fast can I go in my boat when transporting my floating mat with Manta Racks?

Our Rack Systems are built to withstand the boating environment.  Since floating mats are light weight and wind can lift them when going fast.  We do not recommend speeding with Manta Racks, although should you decide to, we recommend that you strap down the Rack System.

How much weight can Manta Racks handle?

Our Rack Systems are built to withstand the boating environment.  They are made of ¼” high grade aluminum.  The weight question is determined by the quality and reinforcement of the rod holders you are using.

What if I’m caught in storm or rough seas when transporting my SUP/Kayak/Wakeboards or Floating Mat?

If you encounter rough seas while using Manta Racks, we recommend strapping down the Rack System to your boat.

Can we tow our boat over the road with the Rack Systems in the boat?

We do not recommend towing your boat with the Rack Systems in the boat on the road.  Should you decide to do this, we vehemently suggest strapping everything down with rachet straps.  The driver of the vehicle is ultimately responsible for any accidents.
